What Methodists believe
Hello,
We are three congregations of people living and worshipping God in south-east County Down in Northern Ireland. We are part of the connexion of 200 Methodist congregations in Ireland, north, south, east and west. Dundrum church is near the castle in the town. The church in the seaside town of Newcastle is on the Central Promenade, and the Downpatrick church is in the historic centre of County Down.
We believe that everyone matters to God. He loves us and has a purpose for our lives. He wants to have a relationship with us, but He didn’t make us robots to love and obey Him. He gave us freedom of choice.
This is why He sent Jesus to earth. Who is Jesus? He’s God’s Son. He changed the course of history and we believe He changes lives today.
